16 Weeks, little darling.

Oh 16 weeks, you've come so quickly.

I really thought I'd be able to keep up with this blog weekly. Turns out, I forgot I was a mother.

#toobusyformyowngood

Well, I'm officially 16 weeks. Can I get a hoo-ra? [thank you for those who participated.]

The past 16 weeks have flown by to me. Maybe it's just because I can't keep up with life quick enough.   Who knows! But it sure is fun. I love being a mama already. I look forward to being a mama x 2!

So by 16 weeks, you'd think I'd be over this whole "morning sickness." PS- why is it even called that? Whoever tagged that name must not have actually been pregnant. It should be called all-day-sickness or never-ending-sickness. By the end of the first trimester with Abs, I felt like a new woman! These headaches are getting the best of me.

Aside from the headaches, I have really awesome gag reflexes. #sarcasm.

Abigail has finally (and by finally I mean three times ever) mastered playing by herself. While I was cooking breakfast for us, I had the Steve Harvey Show on just for noise. She was playing in the living room while I was in the kitchen. Well stupid me decided to look over at the TV and here's what was playing:

A man was brought on the show to break a record. This is why I was interested. I see 4 blenders lined up with a yellow liquid substance inside. Here I am cooking breakfast thinking it's orange juice. Next thing I know, my man Steve (not really, Josh. You know you're my man, boo) says, "In EACH of these 4 blenders, there are 25 eggs--100 eggs total--He will break a record if he can drink all 100 eggs in THIRTY SECONDS." But I swear, it happened so fast! I didn't even have time to look away. It was kind of one of those things where it's so gross, you can't help but look. So as this man is CHUGGING eggs, I am practically projectile vomiting across the living room. I ran to the other side of the room to where I couldn't see TV and gagged my lil heart out. It. was. so. gross. [insert miley-cyrus-tongue-face-here]

What I wanna know is WHY this guy ever thought that'd be a cool talent to have? It clearly took many swallowed-eggs of practicing to try and break this record.

In the mean time, I'm a little jealous because I can't even eat raw cookie dough because of the raw eggs in it. So this man not only grossed me out, but he started to tick me off from rubbing it in my face.

Being a mama has so many perks to it. I love watching Abs grow and develop. She all of a sudden has 4 teeth with 3 more trying to come in. All within a month, poor thing. The great thing is, she can bite down on real food. I put her in the high chair and gave her a baby cookie. She was in such a great mood, so I gave her another. Well, I taught her a hand gesture for "more, please" and she did it after the second cookie. So….I rewarded her with a third. And the look on her face was just too cute to NOT give her a fourth cookie!!! She did the hand gesture, so I gave her another. After the fourth cookie I realized, "Wow, she probably doesn't need anymore." I turn the bag around to check out the serving size.

1.

The serving size is 1 cookie, y'all.

Gerber, you're telling me that I just gave my baby 4x the serving size?

All I have to say is that it's a good thing she's only in the 23rd percentile for weight. Maybe I should say was.

Abigail also is starting to learn words. She overhears small words that Josh and I say and then all of a sudden we hear her repeating us. I'm not sure if this is the best kind of parenting…Abigail LOVES the mirror. She thinks seeing herself is the funniest thing. One day I look over to find her staring at herself in the mirror, and I hear her say, "Woooooooow!" with her eyebrows raised… #egotisticaltoddler? #selfie

Oh my gosh. When I think about my life, I can't help but thank God for the joy He's given me through this little babe. That's why we're so excited for another babe! One baby makes me laugh so many times a day, I can't imagine two!…and then six more! (I'll know if Josh read this based on this statement alone)

As for the babe in my belly, we're really thinking it's a boy now. Everything is so different than my pregnancy with Abs. I know that doesn't mean much, but it helps me rationalize. I have morning sickness longer than I did with her, I crave different kinds of foods, my belly is shaped different, and the Chinese Gender Calendar predicted boy! I went to 5 different websites, and 4 out of the 5 concluded it'll be a boy….but I still wanna see an ultrasound so they can confirm to me there aren't multiples! I can't even imagine…I've had so many dreams of twins, I need to just be affirmed that there's only one babe rolling around in here. It's highly unlikely.

First order.
Don't be fooled. This is the second order. Josh thought it was appropriate to order two baskets of Fried Pickles since that was the reason we came. Needless to say, I'm full and satisfied. And I didn't even eat half of the second!

I decided to give up on coke for the rest of pregnancy. You've been a gem to me, Coke, you really have. But it's really time to take a break. It's not me, it's you. I'll love you for always.

For those of you wondering when we find out the gender….it won't be until December 21. Technically we could find out in three weeks, but my girl Casy & my mama are planning a Gender Reveal Party for us when we fly back home for Christmas. So exciting! Our doctor is going to call Casy and tell her the gender so they can plan a par-tay for us. Woo-hoo!

I picked up a wooden high chair from a consignment store this past week and decided to paint it white. It's been a fun little project to keep me occupied. Although, It didn't even take long to do. I guess I need another project.

Before (Carebears on the top!!)

After. Sorta. I need to do one more coat. I forgot to paint the tray! Mama-brain.

14 Weeks

Oh baby belly, you're freaking me out with how large you are already.

I didn't update you on last week. Here's why in one word:

Abigail.

She's a nut.

She has been the best sleeper until three weeks ago. Two teeth popped up, and now three more are pushing through. America runs on Dunkin, Abigail runs on milk, and these days mama runs on coffee. coke. caffeine. Someone help me.

Although she's quite the screamer [more like a heavy metal scream], the minute we go and pick her up, she's so sweet and cuddly. I was praying with her the other night [after she woke up for the fourth time] just thanking God how she feels so loved and safe with us. In just a moment, she can make us go from stressed out to our hearts melted. She's so sweet.

Speaking of sweet, I'm eating Hot Tamales right now. These babies are GOOD.

Speaking of babies, there's one in my belly that's been in there for 14 whole weeks today!
