Lately

My life is busy.
My life is tiresome.
My life is perfect.

How in the world could those three adjectives go together? One word: Abigail

She makes my life busy. She makes my life tiresome. She makes my life....perfect.

How is my life so busy, you ask?
Wake up. Feed baby. Read/pray with baby. Play with baby. Get baby to nap. Choice of laundry/dishes/blog/read/facebook. Feed baby. Play with baby. Change baby. Go for walk with baby. Pretend I'm a baby so baby feels like she's got a friend. (just kidding. maybe.) Play with baby. Change baby. Get baby to nap. Feed baby. Change baby. Play with baby. Watch TV with baby. Make dinner for baby. Dinner with Josh, accompanied by baby. play with baby. Bathe baby. Change baby. Feed baby. Go to sleep baby. WHEW!!!

How is my life so tiresome?

I know what you're thinking. You're thinking I'm borderline psychotic. Truth is, I probably am. I LOVE Abigail so much. I wouldn't trade spending the entire day with her for anything in the world!

And let me just clarify, Josh is here with us. He has been such a terrific father to Abs. He's in two classes right now for the summer term and decided to back out of his in-class classes so that he can be home with us for the summer, instead of being gone all day. What a guy. WHAT. A. GUY. He's been such a trooper through this whole parenthood "thing." First of all, I'm a momma now, so I don't have a six pack anymore. As if I ever did. Secondly, I get cabin fever and need to get out of the house every once in a while. Josh is so  gracious with letting me go to the gym. Fortunately, Abigail prefers daddy to put her down for naps every day, so that's my que to run like the wind! *No pun intended.

Moving away from our family was kind of a battle for me at first. I would always fast forward my mind to this summer and be bummed that we wouldn't be in Florida for the summer. But Josh being home with us has really turned my frown upside down. For Mother's Day, Josh surprised me with a trip to Maine to see the Nubble Light House! My birthday (t-w-e-n-t-y-f-o-u-r) was June 14 and we spent the day together as a family. My favorite. Father's Day was June 15th. Friends of ours came to visit June 20th weekend. Our second (holy moly) anniversary was July 2. Two days later was July 4 (obviously). I feel like we've been celebrating this entire summer! It truly has been a blessing to spend so much time together as a family.

Our anniversary was so sweet. It was kinda like last year's. Last year we drove an hour to Downtown Pensacola and spent the weekend at a Bed & Breakfast. I was 23 weeks pregnant. This year we spent it Massachusetts on our couch & went out to breakfast. Ohhhhhh the dynamics of having a child. (I wouldn't EVER change that though. EVER. got it?) We went to a cute little place called the Depot Diner. Abigail got all eyes on her. "What a beautiful girl." "What an angel!" "She is gorgeous!" DON'T PEOPLE KNOW IT'S OUR DAY, NOT HERS?! She's SUCH a show-stoppa. We went back home and just relaxed until dinner. We did, however, spend an hour and a half in separate rooms writing letters to each other. Sounds all mooshy-gooshy.... It was. After an hour and a half, we printed our letters and exchanged. And that's when I fell in love all over again. We went back to our separate rooms and immediately cracked up. This was my favorite part of the day! Relaxing was fun, but I was hungry. I'm always hungry. Always. And although we had a friend offer to watch Abs, we chose to stay on this side of town and have a little fun Down Unda. Yep, we went to Outback. Once again, Abigail got all the attention. Unbelievable, this girl. We even sat in the back of the restaurant! Love this girl. She gives the sweetest looks to people. And we ended the night by, what-other-thing-to-do than sing Christmas carols. Don't ask.

I'll post our letters to each other in another blog post. As for now, life is busy, life is tough, but life is sweet.

Love,
Me.

PS- I got a nanny job. It pays more than I've ever been paid. We continue to pray (as we have since the day we decided to move here) for God to keep us out of debt and manage our finances well. We are incredibly grateful the way he has provided for us thus far. Jesus, you are so sweet.

Family day in Boston!

You, little lady, are the most beautiful thing I've ever seen.

She's the sweetest!
Hangin out

Father's Day!

Walking around the city!

And this is our family: Extremely odd. Even Abigail is looking off in the distance.
